What if the school run, your daily errands, and a little unexpected joy were all a short walk away?

Picture a neighborhood where the space outside your door belongs to everyday life: shade, a safe crossing, a place to sit, and the things you need close enough to walk. The mechanism is practical: redesign a small stretch of street, connect useful destinations, and measure whether getting around becomes easier.

This vision depends on residents shaping the change, access for people with disabilities, workable deliveries, and safe emergency routes. A prettier street is not enough. The test is whether people can use it, including those who cannot choose how or when they travel.

Start with a proposal for one block. Map current journeys, listen to residents and local businesses, and design a temporary trial with the relevant permission. Publish the plan and a before-and-after measurement method before anyone claims a result.
