An ocean that comes back to life.

Imagine coastlines where flourishing habitats and thriving local livelihoods are part of the same story.
Imagine a coast where living habitats, fishing communities, and local knowledge are treated as one connected system. This vision starts with observing a specific place, reducing pressures where possible, and considering restoration only when the ecology supports it. A recovery story needs a baseline before it needs a celebration.
The assumptions are local: water conditions, habitat suitability, community consent, long-term stewardship, and the ability to distinguish an intervention from natural variation. Planting something is not the same as restoring an ecosystem, and activity is not evidence of recovery.
Start with an open monitoring plan for one coastal site, developed with a willing local steward and relevant ecological expertise. Define what would be observed, how observations would be checked, and what would change a decision. No site or delivery partner has yet been selected for this editorial concept.
